Welcome and Introductions: Cynthia Stanton
The second meeting of the AES/PTG for the school year 2002-2003 was called to order at 7:02 PM.
Secretary Report: Cherylan Camire
Discussion: The Secretary report for 10/6/03 was reviewed.
Conclusions: Motion is made by Brandi Senecal to accept the minutes as written, motion is seconded by
Katie Nolan-Denham, all were in favor. The secretary report for 10/6/03 was accepted.
Treasurer’s Report: Rachel Belanger
Discussion: The Treasurer’s report for the month of October 2003 was reviewed.
Conclusions: Motion is made by Cheryl Camire to accept the report, motion is seconded by Bonnie
Labrie, all were in favor. The Treasurer’s report for October 2003 was accepted.
Teacher Representatives: Tracy Scully
Tracy Scully: Tracy stated that she is meeting with the Coca Cola representative about adding water to
the soda machine. This will be done next Friday when he comes in to take the order.
Norma Pettegrow: Requested money for a DVD player. Andrea Berry will look into the cost of one
through her brother who works at Best Buy. Norma also requested PTG purchase a shredder for the
elementary school wing. Mr. Rhoads request that PTG table these requests in order for him to review the
school budget for these items.
Carole Thompson: Carol wanted to say Thank you to the PTG and stated she appreciated all of the
Dave Cote: Requested $$121.02to purchase a Triple Beam Balance for his science classes. Bonnie
Labrie motioned PTG provide Mr. Cote with $121.02 for this purchase, Andrea Berry seconded. All were
Principal Report Kyle Rhoads
1) Update on substitute training: Mr. Rhoads had hoped that he would have a substitute teacher training
manual available by the end of October. The manual is not yet complete yet however, he still intends
to have this completed soon.
2) Principal's Positive- a card that shows a child doing something great. Mr. Rhoads will receive this on
his desk and then make a positive phone call home. Look for these cards and calls soon.
3) Today was the first day of the new bus route, and it went well!
4) Kyle states that there have been issues with cars being parked in the driveway and interfering with the
school buses. Please do not park in the driveway especially during bus arrivals and departures. Kyle
may be seeking support in the future from PTG in purchasing parking signs for the secretaries. Denis
will speak with Kyle about the cost etc.
5) Rick K. received some equipment from generous families, and mentioned he is all set until winter
where he might need some sleds.
6) There is a need to create two parent advisory groups:
a) A Title I parent group to help write a grant, share ideas, and discuss money allocation
b) Another to look at presenting health curriculum to parents. A new health program was
established last year for K-8 students between AES and Goodall Hospital. This year he is
looking at doing a presentation to parents. He would like to explain the concepts of the
program to the parents and get feedback. This health program will need to be approved by
the school board. Kyle requested feedback about this tonight. Holly Mooney is on the
